Swanage Pet Services started as a solo one woman dream back in 2020 and we are now a proud team of 4. We are ready and excited to meet new pet care professionals and expand together to meet the increasing demand in our local community of Swanage and Purbeck, while continuing to deliver the highest possible standards of care and professionalism we are known for!
Our Primary Clients Needs Are:
- Weekly/ Contingent/ ad/hoc/ and flexible weekly dog walking for locals, and holiday makers visiting the Swanage/ Purbeck area in high/peak seasons/times.
- House and Pet Sitting in client’s own home and offering a premium service and bespoke care to the pet(s) plants and home and staying in regular contact with the owners throughout.
- Pop In’s- A Pop in visit service for smaller/younger animals, unwell or elderly pet care needs. Can include cats, rabbits, birds, parrots, tortoise, hamsters, lizards etc!

Reliable, Flexible, Experienced with a Range of Animals and Animal Behaviour, Enthusiastic, Caring, Friendly Demeanour with Excellent Interpersonal Skills. Highly Trustworthy, Energetic, Proactive and Able to Use Their Own Initiative and be Great Communicators.

Potential candidates MUST:
- Be over 18 years old and a resident of the UK.
- Registered or willingness to register self-employed for tax purposes and work as a contractor representing Swanage Pet Services and uphold our excellent reputation and standards.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and have own transport.
- Be confident, responsible, trustworthy, proactive, caring and be able to use own initiative well and be competent working alone and managing own caseload.
- Be punctual, presentable and 100% reliable and honest.
- Strong interpersonal skills and be a great communicator.
- Have love, empathy, skills and confidence in dealing with all pets big and small and has experience in handling and walking skills ideally with a range of various breeds/ types.
- Be willing to undertake work throughout the year, especially in high season, school/bank holidays, weekends and evenings.
- Must have/ willing to get a DBS check, Insurance and a pet first aid qualification to start.
We will happily support you in obtaining these paperwork requirements to ensure all correct paperwork, tax and legal admin is in place prior to commencement.
Initially successful candidates will be happy to undertake some unpaid shadowing shifts with Swanage Pet Services Owners Josey-May and Paul, attend team sharing/learning meet ups and will be subject to a trial/ probationary period at our discretion.
Please note- No set hours will be provided, you are able to say yes or no to any work that comes through our business brand that we offer to you. We will endeavour to eventually provide you with the amount of work you would like to have if possible.
